About us

At Zencape Health, we believe everyone should have access to personalized, quality care. Our products are designed from the ground-up to acknowledge and support the lived experience of our patients, many of whom have been historically overlooked or dismissed by traditional healthcare systems.

On average, it takes 10 years for a patient with chronic pelvic conditions to reach either a diagnosis or get access to care — more time than it takes to sail around the world!

1 in 4 people who menstruate have missed out on work or social events because of period pain.

Our Stories

  • “My journey started with hours spent in the nurse's office as a kid in school and led to decades of seeking care for debilitating period pain. I started Zencape Health because it was what I needed each time I was told my pain was normal."

    -Abi, Founder & CEO

  • “I dealt with years of mysterious pain & countless tearful doctor appointments before I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. At Zencape, we know what it’s like to try to access care and be met with constant dismissal, dead-ends, and wasted money. ”

    -Tara, Director of Product Design

A note about equity

Our care philosophy centers historically marginalized communities. We design with intention for our gender-diverse patients, who are historically underserved in medical care, our patients of color, who are often dismissed by traditional medical systems, and others who have been let down by their healthcare providers. Nearly a hundred community contributors have participated in our product development process to co-create with intention and inclusivity. We are committed to building an equitable healthcare platform where the people we serve are heard, supported, believed, and treated with respect.

We are a women-led, patient-first founding team building the care platform we’ve needed in our own journeys. Along the way, we’ve assembled a world-class team of providers, technologists, and leaders.

  • "The whole approach felt so different. Zencape is everything you could hope for as a patient with endometriosis going through the chaos that is our medical system.”

    Kate, 33, Endometriosis & PCOS

  • “They took the time to listen to my journey, my concerns, and my frustrations. I didn’t feel rushed or judged. I felt like I could ask them anything. They were very approachable, open and made me feel valued."

    Nyishah, 37, Endometriosis

  • “I was glad to see that I could check 'no' [during my intake] to whether or not I wanted to discuss fertility and it was not brought up again.”

    Rex, 24, Endometriosis & PMDD

  • "I appreciated that there was already an understanding of my medical history. So many times I show up to the doctor’s office and I’ve filled out the forms and I still have to rattle off a novel’s worth of medical history. Both Dr. Kim and Dr. Lewis made it feel like they knew what I was going through."

  • "I felt like Dr. Kim was way more knowledgeable than the previous OBGYN’s I’d seen. I felt like she really knew her stuff in terms of endo. She didn’t dismiss it like other OBGYNs.”

Alexa, 30, Endometriosis & Interstitial Cystitis

  • "I really like that I spoke to two different people with two very different specialities that were still connected."
